Steps for Registering as a Chapter...
- Form your Chapter.
- You will need to make sure that you can meet the basic criteria listed above. This means that you should already have at least one adult (this can NOT be a high school student) who meets the advisor criteria who will be working with you and attending Jr. Assembly. You will need this advisor's help to complete some of the next steps.
- Dowload the following forms
- Jr. YIG ONLY: Intent to Participate Form - This form will allow us to create the accounts for middle school students. Without it we can not allow the accounts to exist. The forms can be faxed to the State Office (888.482.6906, Attn: Jr. Youth In Government, Re: ITP Forms).
- Jr. & Sr. YIG: This form asks for the signatures of your advisor and the YMCA Program Director who will be overseeing your Chapter. This form can also be faxed to the State Office (888.482.6906, Attn: Youth In Government, Re: CRC)
- Have your advisor go online to YIGnet (www.floridayig.net). In the upper right-hand corner of the home page there is a box called "Information System". Click the link that says - Access the Deledex (Sr. Deledex or Jr. Deledex)
- You will notice that it is green for Jr. YIG and blue for Sr. YIG.
- In the bottom left hand corner is a box called "Registration", click the link called Chapter Registration (Sr. Deledex or Jr. Deledex).
- Fill in the appropriate information and click "Submit". You will recieve a message that says... "Your chapter registration has been submitted for approval. A representative of the State Office will contact you within 2 business days regarding your registration."
- Your chapter is now a "Pending Chapter" and the State Office will be checking with the local Y to make sure that you have affiliation. Once that has been done your Chapter will be removed from pending status and your advisor will receive an email. If you have concerns or want to speed up the process, give the State Office a call at 727.386.9622 during business hours.
- As soon as your Chapter has been removed from the pending status, your Advisor will be able to enter students on your Chapter's roster, which will create an account for each Chapter member.
